Counselling for neonatal families across the North East and North Cumbria

As we continue to grow and develop our support services to reach even more families, Tiny Lives is delighted to now offer free self-referral counselling to all neonatal families across the North East and North Cumbria.

We know that a neonatal journey can have a lasting emotional impact, and that many parents and caregivers only begin to process their experiences once they are home and life starts to settle. For others, feelings may resurface months or even years later, often triggered by significant milestones, future pregnancies, or their child starting school.

Delivered in partnership with the North East Counselling Service, families can access up to six free counselling sessions, either individually or as a couple. Sessions can take place in person or online, offering flexibility to fit around family life. The service is self-referral, meaning no medical referral is needed.

At Tiny Lives, we know that every family’s neonatal experience is unique. We are proud to be expanding this service beyond the RVI to support all neonatal families throughout the North East and North Cumbria, ensuring more parents and caregivers can access the emotional support they need, when they need it most.

To refer, parents simply need to fill out a form, and a Tiny Lives staff member will be in touch to get the process started.
