SHOWING LOVE TO OUR NEONATAL COLLEAGUES ALL YEAR ROUND

It’s the month of love, but on Ward 35, we want to show our amazing colleagues working on the ward just how much we love and appreciate them all year round.

The staff on the Neonatal Unit (Ward 35) work tirelessly to care for families at some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. We support their work whenever we can, through funding research, training and learning opportunities –  often funding requests that the Unit would otherwise be unable to fund alone, so staff can continue to offer the very best care to the babies and families in their hands.

Sometimes that support means funding travel costs so staff can attend specialist training or conferences, which recently enabled the brilliant transport team to attend a national conference and members of the FiCare (Family Integrated Care) team attended an international conference in Canada, ensuring opportunities for professional development are accessible and not limited by budget.

Alongside that we contributes towards event planning for awareness days like World Prematurity Day and Kangaroo Care Day, helping the Unit mark important milestones and raise understanding of neonatal care.

Rachel Hardwick, fundraising and engagement manager at Tiny Lives said, “We see first-hand the incredible dedication, compassion and skill shown by everyone who works on Ward 35. Day and night, they are there for babies and families during some of the most emotional and challenging moments of their lives, and we never take that for granted. Alongside small gestures of kindness, we’re committed to continuing to fund meaningful initiatives that genuinely make their working lives easier, whether that’s specialist training, wellbeing support or resources that enhance patient care. They are there to support babies and families, and we are here to support them. We want them to know just how valued and appreciated they truly are so join us this February to tell them how valued they are.”

This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating a different kind of love – the compassion, commitment and care shown on the neonatal ward all year round. If you’re a member of staff on the Unit and would like more information about funding, please email info@tinylives.org.uk to access a grant application form.
