Tiny Lives Celebrates World Prematurity Day 2022

World Prematurity was on Thursday 17th November 2022 and Tiny Lives and Ward 35 marked the day with a number of events through the day!

Ward 35 marked the day with a workshop kindly carried out by LUSH UK allowing staff and parents on the unit to make facemasks. The Unit was decorated beautifully by Sister Emma Carmichael and parents received purple miniboos and wonderful parent pamper packs put together by staff. Parents also received a gorgeous handmade purple heart attached with a lovely poem written by Trainee Advance Nurse Practitioner Abbie Elden!

Rachel from the Tiny Lives team spent her morning at the Metrocentre, sharing the incredible work that the unit and Tiny Lives do and Kate from the Tiny Lives team popped down to the Quayside to take some pictures and videos of the bridges lit up for those who could not make it.

Unfortunately, due to the severe weather the Tiny Lights for Tiny Lives walk had to be postponed! We still went ahead with the event at the Cycle Hub and a big thank you to everyone who came down to see Neonatal Unit Staff and the Tiny Lives Team. It was so lovely to see you all and we hope you enjoyed yourselves.
