Grandad Tim Completes 68 Peaks, aged 68 Years for Beauden’s 68 Days
Well Done Grandad Tim!
Grandad Tim completed his monumental ’68 peaks, aged 68 years for Beauden’s 68 days’ yesterday, ending it with England’s highest peak, Scafell Pike. He has been hiking and climbing everyday since the 29th March, undertaking the highest peaks in the Lake District, essentially England’s highest peaks (63 of the Lake’s highest peaks feature in England’s 68 highest peaks). The challenge was in memory of Tim’s grandson Beauden and aimed to raise funds for the Tiny Lives Trust and the Beauden Brave Fund administered by the Newcastle Hospitals Charity. Beauden spent his entire 68 day life on NICU.
Tim said “Whilst I feel a great sense of achievement, I’ll be happy if I don’t see another mountain for a while! Seriously though, it’s been a mix of super days, usually when I’ve had company and the weather’s been good, and some rather tough days.. you guessed it, when I’ve been solo and the weather’s been grim! But the support of family and friends has kept me focussed, and throughout, keeping Beauden in my heart and mind has been all the motivation I needed”
