NEC Awareness Day 2020 – tell your story
NEC (Necrotizing Enterocolitis) is a bowel disease that sadly can often be fatal to premature and sick babies. 1 in 4 babies diagnosed with NEC will require surgery and tragically 3 babies in the UK die from NEC every week.
NEC Awareness Day (17th May) works to bring attention to this disease and the families and babies it devastates, with the aim of improving awareness and research surrounding NEC.
Tiny Lives and the RVI Neonatal Unit are working with NECUK to help promote NEC Awareness Day by collating video stories from parents and professionals. We have a ‘flipgrid’ platform that hosts videos and we would love you to visit, view, and upload a video if you feel able. You can access our grid and upload your video directly here: flipgrid.com/berrington3655 (copy and paste if needed!).
We can all work together to share experiences and raise awareness of NEC. For more information on NEC, please visit https://www.necuk.org.uk/
