For Pyjama Week this year, Puddle Ducks North East raised the incredible amount of £982.42 for Tiny Lives.

The swimmers came to lessons in their pyjamas, as well as it being loads of fun it also helps swimmers and parents learn some essential safety skills and how clothing will have an affect on swimming.

In honour of some of their little Ducks having spent time on the Special Care Baby Unit at the RVI, all swimmers and parents pulled together to raise this incredible amount for Tiny Lives.

Thank you all!

Steve goes a few extra miles for Isabella…

We would like to say a massive well done and thank you to Steve for supporting Tiny Lives by not only traveling miles to take part in Barclays Moontrekker 2016 in loving memory of Isabella but for also running all them miles.

Also massive thank you to everyone who has supported Steve which we are sure kept him going.

“I will be racing 43km (27 miles) at night for Tiny Lives in loving memory of our never to be forgotten Isabella. This is a marathon but not just any ordinary marathon. It will be over 27 miles, in the dark, going through jungle and climbing mountains equivalent to going up and down Mount Snowdon 3 times! Oh and it will be still hot. I completed the shorter 30km version last year but this time I am going for the full Monty”

Family of Supporters is all around our wonderful region…

The fabulous Tiny Lives Family of Supporters is all around our wonderful region…  Sue, Captain of the Alnwick Castle Golf Club Ladies Team, chose to support Tiny Lives as her grandson was on SCBU.  The team raised an astonishing £1,650 which will purchase journals so parents can chart their baby’s progress and developmental care aids to provide the best start in life for premature babies.

Thank you for supporting staff training

All year around, Tiny Lives help staff at the RVI keep up-to-date with advancements in neonatal and antenatal care by providing training grants.

These grants can cover both course fees and travel costs – making sure staff are given every opportunity to attend these important workshops, courses and conferences.

We’d like to pass along a thank you from one staff member who was recently able to attend an ‘Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy Screening’ workshop, thanks to your tireless fundraising:

Thanks so much to Tiny Lives for providing this grant so I could attend the Infectious diseases in pregnancy screening workshop in London. The workshop enabled the sharing of best practices from a range of professionals in relation to  new standards and guidelines supporting robust multidisciplinary care for mother’s with infectious diseases with the aim of protecting their newborn babies from mother to child transmission of the infection. I will be sharing this with my colleagues in my role as antenatal and newborn screening coordinator.
