Charity Football Match in Honour of Lana Kaye Murphy
On 28th February, Lana Kaye’s parents (Gemma and Karl), family and friends came together and honoured her memory in a charity football match with all monies raised donated to Tiny Lives.
The day was a great success, with a cake sale and raffle taking place along with the presentation evening after the match to the winning team.
Karl said: “It was a brilliant day and a great atmosphere. We are very lucky to have such fantastic family and friends who came along to support us. It was very emotional for us, but we also felt proud. It would never have even entered my head that just four months after Lana died we would have raised almost £10,000 in her memory. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us and we know that the money is going to a really good cause. We’ve really got the fundraising bug now. I’m doing the Great North Run for Tiny Lives and we are already thinking about future events.”
Tiny Lives would like to thank everyone for making this day possible and raising the wonderful amount of £1105.65, South Shields Football Club, Filtrona Park, all the footballers, everyone that kindly donated a raffle prize, cakes for the cake sale, food for the presentation evening and not forgetting everyone who came along to support the footballers.
