Family Centred Support from M&S
In 2012-13 M&S in Northumberland Street, Newcastle chose Tiny Lives again as its charity of the year. A combination of M&S employee fundraising, and the wonderful team of Tiny Lives volunteers bag packing in the food hall, raised £17,245 for Tiny Lives! Having a premature or sick baby is a frightening experience. As well as the emotional impact of their baby being in special care, many parents have to face the practical difficulties that can arise when their child is in hospital for weeks, if not months. Tiny Lives funds a full-time Social Worker to work exclusively on Ward 35 to provide social, emotional, and practical support to families of babies on the unit. The funds raised are being used towards this post to help parents at one of the most critical times in their lives. https://www.tinylives.org.uk/about/how-we-make-a-difference/family-support/
