Tiny Lives is gift aid registered which means that, with the donors consent, we can claim an additional 25% on top of donations made by UK taxpayers. Asking people to complete a gift aid declaration can therefore make a significant difference to the amount of money that you raise for relatively little effort.
People donating/sponsoring you online via Just Giving are automatically asked if they will complete a gift aid declaration. Similarly, authorising the charity to collect gift aid on their donation is incorporated into the sponsorship form (please contact us for a copy). You therefore only need to ask people to complete an actual gift aid form (please contact us for a copy) if they give you a cash or cheque donation. If you are collecting gift aid forms, it is important to keep a record of how much each person has donated so that we know how much tax to claim back.
