Setting your own challenge

“Don’t be scared to believe in yourself. Just remember every penny can make a massive difference”

After his daughter Madison was tragically stillborn at 40 weeks, John (centre and right) and his co-workers at Atlas IM did a sponsored zipslide off the Baltic in Gateshead, raising £1430 for Tiny Lives.

Use your imagination to set your own challenge (and see if you can persuade your friends and family to join you!). Here are some ideas:

  • Invite people to sponsor you to give up a favourite food like chocolate, or make a lifestyle change such as sponsored weight loss or gym challenge?
  • Would you shave your head for Tiny Lives or endure a chest/leg wax?!
  • Do a sponsored “a-thon” challenge…how many hours could you sing/dance for? What else could you do (either on your own or as part of a team) keep up for several hours?
  • If you have a head for heights, or are feeling brave, what about a sponsored abseil or zipslide? You could even follow in the footsteps of Dr Hans Steiner, one of the founders of Tiny Lives, who did a sponsored parchute jump for the charity back in 1983!

Why not make your fundraising extra special and try and break a Guinness World Record at the same time? Search their website http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com for ideas and inspiration!
