Education and training
The health of the babies is completely dependent
on the expertise of the nurses and doctors. To help
them develop and keep up their skills we are committed
to providing support for them to attend courses,
conferences and training events. This helps them
keep up to date with the latest advances.

Funding for research
The care of newborn babies never stands still. We
have seen tremendous improvements in the survival
of very premature babies, all of which result from
research in services like ours. We want to stay at
the forefront of developments in care of the newborn
so research will always be a high priority for us.

Specialist developmental care
Tiny Lives has recently funded some time from a
specialist physiotherapist to enhance the quality
of developmental care our babies receive.
Back to "About Us"
A homely environment
We don’t just look after babies – we
are here for their families too. Babies and their
families need to feel as relaxed as possible, comfortable
and supported in all sorts of ways. We think that
attention to all aspects of the ward environment
is very important whether it is a waiting room, a
counselling room, a parent room or the ward itself.

Help with travel costs for parents
We realise that the parents of some of our babies
are far from home and may have financial difficulty.
Tiny Lives helps us to go some way to helping parents
with these costs.

Expensive equipment
In the past funds such as
Tiny Lives provided much of the equipment that
is now regarded as standard.
Whilst this is now mostly provided by the NHS there
are occasions when “extra” funds help
us to stay at the cutting edge of technology.
